All that you know is to scam followers into your refuge

And use your Jezebel spirit to rob them

All that you know is to scam all damsels into your cage

And use your Jezebel spirit to taste their stew here and there

You Mr ghost worker

All that you know is to scam innocent to your net days and nights

And use your Jezebel spirit to dupe and hijack their daily living

A lover of what God hates

A hater of what God loves

You Baba Egbeji, you know God frowns at killing and adultery

All that you know is to scam the customers who visit your hut

For consult to spiritual bonds

And use your Jezebel spirit to suck the breasts of their wives

And send their husbands to  a quiet end

 

Good recount! Jezebel died; Elijah died

Jezebel lived legacy; Elijah lived legacy

Jezebel is described as a prophet of Baal who is a symbol of all false and fake prophets in our society that scam and use Jezebel to rob church members.

Jezebel is described as a Phoenician un-husbanded who is a symbol of a husband killer who scams and uses Jezebel’s spirit to kill their husband.

Jezebel is described as a cruel witch, a symbolic witch, and a wizard who scams and uses Jezebel’s spirit to kill people.

Jezebel is described as a rebel and self-lover who symbolizes our politicians who scam into their camp/asylum and use Jezebel’s spirit to rob public funds.

Jezebel is described as a harlot and prostitute who is a symbol of easy virtue in our society they scam married and unmarried people into her castle and use Jezebel’s spirit to dominate their husbands.

Jezebel is described as a destroyer/killer of prophets who is a symbol of a rent boy in our society who scams all damsels into his cage and uses Jezebel’s spirit to sleep with them.

Jezebel is described as a manipulator and a cheat who is a symbol of Ghost Workers in our society that scams innocent people and uses Jezebel’s spirit to dupe them.

Jezebel is described as a brutal person who is a symbol of Baba Egbeji that scams his clients into spiritual bonds and uses Jezebel’s spirit to hijack wives and kill their husbands.

The poet recalled us to the situation of Elijah and Jezebel. He said that we should compare their legacies. The questions that the poet asks are how our living on this earth and living in heaven will be. We should answer!

Theme

The poem captures the numerous themes that depict wickedness and some other vices and ills that are not socially acceptable. The identifiable themes in the poem “Jezebel Scam” are discussed below.

The theme of fraud (scam)

The poem portrays the poem of fraud popularly known as “scam”. It is the theme that covers the whole people. The poet sees Jezebel as a scammer who performs fraud (scam), all sorts of wickedness to deceive and hurt people.

The theme of false prophecy

The poem exposes false prophecy as Jezebel is known as a false prophet in the Bible. The poet uses the Biblical reference to explain all the deeds of Jezebel. The poet sees her as someone who prophesies fake messages to people.

Theme of witchcraft

Jezebel as well known in the Bible is also known in the poem as a witchcraft that has deceived many people into her wicked tricks. Jezebel has applied her tricks of witchcraft to kill many prophets.

Theme of wickedness

The poet portrays the deeds of Jezebel the wicked ones. The wickedness of Jezebel covers killing, prostitution, harlot, hater of God, cheating, etc. There is the difference between what she says she is and what really is. She claims to be a prophet but she is a wicked one. This is ironic

The poet discloses Jezebel as a rebel woman who rebels to make sure that she sends many prophets to heaven of no return. She manipulates things to cheat and destroy prophets of God. The poem discloses her as a rebellious woman.

Theme of prostitution

The poem divulges Jezebel as a notorious prostitute and harlot. She hijacks both married and unmarried men under her umbrella. She eventually uses her witchcraft works to kill the women and got their husbands married. She uses her witchcraft to commit adultery with many prophets.

Language and Poetic Devices

Satirical poem

The poem, “Jezebel Scam” is considered as a satirical poem as it explains bad and negative Jezebel deeds in a humorous way. The vices and ills of Jezebel are exposedpleasantlyr. The last stanza of the poem points to different consequences between Elijah and Jezebel, not only on this earth but also in heaven. It should be a lesson and what everyone have to think of.

Stanzas and lines

The poem has nine stanzas in which there is the arrangement of the stress and unstressed syllables to give particular rhythmic effects. The lines of the poem begin from sextet to octave.

Neologism

The word “neologism” is a local vocabulary or coinage that is deliberately used by the poet to explain certain things. The words such as “Prophet pseudo, (line 4), “unhusbanded” (line 9), “landlord-lady”(line 13), “honorable political”(line 23), “Mr Ghost worker” (line 47) “Baba Egbeji” (line 56).

Tone/Mood

The state of mind of the poet is worry. The poet is worried and confused how what Jezebel claims to be is not. The poet felt confused about how a prophet can also do sorts of evils.

Figures of Speech

Sarcasm

The poet uses species that involve caustic or bitter comment calculated to wound the feelings of the readers about the deeds of Jezebel in a clever way.

It is derived from the biblical source to correct the errors of wickedness and ills in our society these days. Those who still involve in any vices can see the consequence of Jezebel. Alliteration

The poet makes use of some alliteration, such as “All that you know is to scam your partner to your prison,” (line 11) “p” alliterates. “landlord-lady, “l” alliterates; “The wicked witch and wizard” (line 17) “w” alliterates; “And use your Jezebel spirit to nock their necks like chicken” (line 19) “n” alliterates.

Repetition

The poet makes use of repetition to emphasize the message in the poem. Such repetitions are “Do you know Jezebel” throughout the beginning of each stanza, except the last stanza. Also, “Is it not the same Jezebel I am talking about” throughout the second line of each stanza, except the last stanza. “All that you know” that appears throughout all stanzas, except the last stanza; “Jezebel” throughout all stanzas, and “Elijah” in the last stanza.

Apostrophe

The poet makes use of the apostrophe, such as “You prophet pseudo, You husband killer, You…” throughout the stanzas of the poem, except the last stanza addressing the readers as if he were there or seen them.

Euphemism
