This is a particular amount that is set apart or available to be spent on a particular item. It is a planned amount to be used on a specific material at a particular time. Everyone should agree with me that without a budget, no plan will be implemented.

Make a list of items.

It is important to make a list of items you need before you zoom off in your car to your favorite shopping arena. This will help you to avoid over sending and impulse buying i.e. things you have not prepared to buy. You will not buy what you do not plan for or be included in your list.

You should always pay on the spot and not ever cultivate the habit of credit purchases to have rest of mind and avoid unnecessary embarrassment all the time. Paying in cash will clear any doubt.

This is a form of a sudden desire to buy something or material one never budgeted or planned for without deep or careful thought about such a product. As earlier said, there is a tendency to be moved with items not included in your list, do not be moved. Beware!

Take care of the need and want.

Make sure you buy things you need and not just a want. It is not wise to buy materials or a product you do not need to avoid wastage. Check your list and buy what you need and want.

Learn to buy things that are of good quality for you to avoid wasting money on the same type of item within a short time. When you go shopping, go for quality products.

Gather facts from your friends or relatives even neighbors who have used or bought the same products just recently to avoid buying fake items.

Buy goods or products where discounts will be given on the items bought to cut down expenses from the budget made to take care of other essentials of life.

Do not forget your right.

You should have the right to enjoy whatever you use your money to buy. Therefore, always make inquiries about this before buying in case the product refuses to serve you well.

It is important to inculcate the habit of buying from a licensed service provider for security purposes, especially on the issue of health.

In this case, check your store, cupboard, or wardrobe before shopping. Failure to check any of these may make you buy what you already have at home.

Impulse buying

Impulse is a sudden desire by customers to buy what they do not plan or budget for due to external forces around them. It is an indirect way of wasting resources because there is no careful thought before buying such a commodity. Somebody can go to a shop and see a product very cheap, attractive, and of good quality. He or she may be attracted to buy such goods though not planned for. Such a purchase is impulse buying. The purchase may also come as a result of the method of display or the way the sales representative persuades such customers just to buy. Whichever way it comes, since you do not plan to such a product before, it is called impulse buying.

For the fact that customers are the assets of every business, producers of every product must make sure customers are satisfied in every area for convenience during business transactions. Various processes which make sure customers are satisfied with the product and service of the organization are known as after-sales services. Some of these services are as follows:

  • Warranty: This is a written agreement in which a seller of a product is made to the buyer to replace or repair the equipment or the machine if it breaks down within a particular period, such as telephone, photocopy machine, computer, etc.
  • Installation of certain machines, activation of SIM cards of Smartphones, etc.
  • Immediate exchange of damaged product
  • The constant call to strengthen the relationship
  • Complaint avenue: There should be a website or phone number where people will make their complaints known to the company or individual that sold a product to them if need be.
  • Maintenance: Heavy equipment bought is always serviced for a specific period for free based on the agreement between the buyer and seller during the period of transaction, e. g. for the first six months, two to three years, etc.
  • Operation: A seller of a product usually makes sure that he or she operates and put the buyer true on the use of such machine for some time before handing it over permanently to the buyer.
